Overview

First Supply offers an exciting opportunity for High School Juniors and Seniors interested in learning more about the distribution operations, supply chain and/or kitchen & bath design. The apprentices will gain knowledge and training in key areas of First Supply, with opportunities to shadow leaders throughout the business. Throughout the program, apprentices will be challenged to develop new ideas and tools to enhance business operations and support their professional growth. The program will be a partnership with the apprentices’ school and will coincide with the academic calendar year.

Responsibilities

Warehouse and Logistics

  • Fill orders accurately.
  • Package, ship and receive orders accurately.
  • Understand and be able to determine the status of an order at any given time.
  • Load trucks to ensure that no product is damaged in shipment.
  • Receive incoming shipments to put away zones in an efficient manner.
  • Acknowledge labels as received from each zone.
  • Ensure all products are clearly identified and/or labeled.
  • Keep warehouse clean, organized and follow all safety procedures.

Kitchen, Bath & Lighting

  • Ensure each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly and professional environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer and maintaining professional standards at all times.
  • Help to maintain a well-organized, aesthetically pleasing environment.
  • Gain an understanding of the sales process to ensure timely and accurate completion of all sales including quotes and sales paperwork.
  • Develop sales skills and product knowledge through internal resources.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Junior or Senior.
  • Strong interest in Distribution, Supply Chain or Kitchen & Bath Design.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to read, speak, understand, and write English.
  • Attendance on a regular and consistent basis.
