The Accounting Operations Analyst supports accounting and financial activities by ensuring accurate, consistent financial data and supporting monthly close, reporting, planning, and audit processes. Serving as a key link between Accounting and FP&A, this role focuses on financial reporting, variance analysis, and process improvement to strengthen data integrity, operational insights, and decision‑making across the organization. This is an on-site position in our La Crosse, WI branch. #SupplyYourFuture

Responsibilities

  • Extract, validate, organize, and maintain financial data from ERP and reporting systems to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability
  • Maintain financial reporting tools, templates, and supporting documentation in accordance with established standards
  • Maintain and support general ledger (GL) structure and ensure accurate data flow into financial reporting systems
  • Prepare and support financial and operational reporting (daily, weekly, and monthly), including financial statements, sales and operational flash reports, commissions, rebates and inventory
  • Perform routine variance and trend analysis comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior periods; identify and escalate notable findings
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets through data gathering, validation, and analysis
  • Identify and support opportunities to improve accounting, reporting, and financial processes, with a focus on efficiency, automation, and data quality
  • Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in financial data, reporting, and insights
  • Support audit processes by preparing documentation, responding to requests, and assisting with compliance-related reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions, and basic data analysis
  • Foundational understanding of accounting and finance principals (financial statements, debits/credits, variance basics)
  • Familiarity with financial planning, reporting, or data visualization tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Tableau, Power BI, or similar) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to validate and organize data for accuracy and consistency
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on assigned responsibilities
  • Self-motivated and dependable, with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of work
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
